ReUse had its first Summer Fun Day at the new Pickup Street site on Friday 28th July, which proved a great success.
The event celebrated the start of the summer holidays as well as giving people the opportunity to see our new Pickup Street building. Visitors included our customers and stakeholders who were able to take part in different activities, such as pyrography and sewing plus they could take advantage of our in-store sale.
This gave ReUse the opportunity to strengthen relationships with businesses in the area and promote some of the other services available from the group, including WorkSmart, the employability team’s project.
Sara Knagg, Reuse Coordinator said ‘Events like this aren’t just about the money made on the day, but the relationships built and maintained that generate income for the future. It was also a great opportunity for other team members from the Blackburn bases to get involved, a number of staff attended the event to run craft stalls and entertainment for the day whilst others popped in at lunch time to have a look round the building. It’s great to get the support and interest of our colleagues from the group’.
The event was picked up by the Lancashire Telegraph who featured online and in Saturday’s edition of the paper. Please click on the link below to read the article:
